"Apart from humiliating me, I don't understand": the inter-municipal authority refuses to help Janvry with its temporary beach

The community of communes is now refusing to allow its agents and equipment to help with the installation of Janvry-Plage (Essonne), an event created in 1999. The mayor has had to call on a private company and has just taken legal action.
By Nolwenn CossonSince 1999, it's been the same ritual. As summer approaches, in Janvry (Essonne) , volunteers are busy. Chairs, deckchairs, and palm trees are brought out of the shed, the large pool is ready to be inflated, and the sand is ordered. On June 28, for its 26th edition, Janvry-Plage will open its doors in the courtyard of the Petite Ferme in this village of 650 inhabitants.
Except that this season, organizing this event—which attracts nearly 3,200 people (5 euros per person for two months) throughout the summer holidays—has been complicated. Unlike previous editions, the municipality was unable to benefit from logistical support from the Pays de Limours (CCPL), which brings together fourteen municipalities.
